Some head-units are fitted with a single Sub-Woofer output socket. This RCA/Phono splitter cable converts a single socket sub output into traditional red/white two-channel signals allowing you to connect a traditional two-core red/white RCA/Phono harness to your sub-woofer.
JVC head-units will require the RCA/Phono splitter cable when installing a sub-woofer.
Alpine units DO NOT require a RCA/Phono splitter cable. Their head units use a traditional pair of red/white RCA sub output sockets.
