This is a pair (kit includes right hand and left hand sides)
These rear cross member mud shield guards will fit all Defenders, (Not Hi-Cap), they are to stop all the mud and road salt getting on top and inside the cross member, road salt and mud settles on top and inside the X member and causes them to rot away, even galvanized chassis do suffer after a while, they also make cleaning your Land Rover much easier as the mud cant get into the X member and around the lights and wiring.
They are made from a rigid but still flexible 3mm plastic material in black, they are very easy to fit, you just use the original mud shield fixing points and use the supplied securing screws and U nuts to secure them, both sides are in 2 halves to make it easier to fit around the exhaust mounting on the cross member, they can also be fitted with rear seat belt mountings that go to the rear cross member.
When fitting our mud shield kits I recommend using Morris K48 Moly Grease on all nuts/bolts and on all the steel and galvanized fittings that bolt to alloy as it acts like a barrier to stop corrosion, if brushed onto the galvanized brackets it will help stop white salt marks that occurs from road salt in wet conditions. Please see HERE for more about this grease.
If you are unsure if you have Square or Stepped rear tub this might help.
Stepped Rear Tub is 2007 on Puma Td4 that have seats in the very back or a 110 utility that has no bulkhead behind the 2nd row of seats, the step was put in by Land Rover for rear forward facing seats.
Square Rear Tub is all 90 110 130 from the beginning and up to 2007, Puma Td4s 2007 on mainly all commercial style ones, like crew cab picups single cab picups and 3 door hard top van style all have square rear tubs.
