Add a dash of ‘Heritage’ chic to your Land Rover Defender with our range of retro gear shifter knobs. Manufactured in the UK and moulded from 100% Bakelite - just like the original shifter knobs fitted by Land Rover in 1948.
Supplied with a lock-nut to ensure perfect alignment of the shifter knobs.
For Reference. Gear shifters use a ½” UNF thread. LT230 uses M10 thread.
The Heritage gear shifters are inspired by the styling of the original Series Land Rover shifter knobs and will fit all pre-2007 90, 110 & 130 Defenders fitted with the LT77, LT85 and R380 gearboxes and the LT230 Transfer Box. Unfortunately the Heritage shifter knobs will not fit the ‘Puma’ Tdci models from 2007-onwards fitted with the 6-speed gearbox.
Choose between the classic ‘Mushroom’ style Series I/II/IIa ‘style shifter (as pictured above) or the Series III ‘Ball’ style for your gearbox shifter (as pictured below).
For the LT230 Transfer Box Hi/Lo/Diff-Lock shifter, choose between Red or Yellow knob options that take their inspiration from the iconic red Hi/Lo & yellow 4wd selectors in Series Land Rovers. This will replace Land Rover part number FRC6595.
The LT230 Transfer Box was used in every model of five-speed manual Defender and four-speed ZF automatic, i.e. NAS & 50th.
How do I identify the gearbox type in my Defender?
The LT77 gearbox was fitted to 200Tdi, 2.5 Turbo-Diesel and any early 90/110 model fitted with a five-speed gearbox.
The LT85 five-speed gearbox was fitted to V8 models.
The R380 five-speed gearbox was fitted to 300Tdi & Td5 models.
