Working in collaboration with Rovers North, North Americas largest independent Land Rover parts supplier, MUD UK has created a faithful replica of the half-door trims fitted to the North American Specification (NAS) Defender 90 soft-top models with two-piece doors with removeable door-tops.
Rovers North NAS door trims are sold in pairs and are supplied with 2x net pockets, 2x internal plastic pull handles and all fixings.
The Rovers North NAS door trims are equivalent to Land Rover part numbers ALR7826LNF, ALR7825LNF, BTR8702PMA, BTR8703PMA.
The NAS door trim will replace the door trim in ‘Wolf’ Military Defenders.
This rare style of door trim was only ever fitted to the North American market Defender 90 soft-top (& removeable fibreglass hardtop) and allowed for easy removal of the door tops while still keeping the lower door trim in place. The original door trims have long been an obsolete part and because of their fragility, are now impossible to find second-hand in good condition.
3D laser scanning technology was utilised to create an accurate CAD model of the original NAS door trim design to ensure a perfect fit and crucially, maintain an OE appearance on increasingly valuable vehicles where retaining originality is key.
The panels are manufactured from a tough but flexible ABS (way better than the originals!) capped with a tactile textured soft-touch material in black.
If you’re carrying out a soft-top conversion, one large benefit of the NAS door trim design is that they provide a location for a much larger speaker than the traditional 4in speakers tucked under the Defender dashboard. We’ve purposely left the area where the speakers are installed as a blank so you can install the speakers of your choice up to a maximum size of 6.5in/16.5cm diameter. (not included)
Complete with door pockets and handles
The door pocket mimics the same vinyl design as the original NAS door trims even down to the same style of wire frames used on the original Land Rover version.
All of the fixings supplied are the same size as the original NAS90 door trim fixings to ensure they will screw straight into any existing fixing holes in the NAS90 doors. Fixings have been upgraded from their original ‘rusty’ mild-steel Land Rover spec to A2 stainless-steel with a black finish.
The internal pull handles supplied are the exact same OE spec plastic handles found on the NAS Defender half-doors.
Compatible with all door straps
The half-doors doors used on the original NAS90 Defenders were fitted with a different check-strap designs depending on the age of the Defender. The different check-straps sit at a different height on the door/bulkhead. We’ve tweaked the design of the trims to ensure they’re compatible with either the ‘early’ Series Land Rover style check-strap or the more conventional ‘later’ Defender check-strap set-up. The installer only needs to cut out the area of the trim to suit their respective check-strap/door set-up. This means no modifications or changes needs to be made to any existing check-strap or bulkhead in order to fit the trims.
Note: The Rovers North NAS door trims will only fit with the anti-burst style door handles fitted as standard to the NAS90 models. Anti-burst handles can be identified by the sliding locking tab mechanism on the inside of the handle. You can fit the NAS trims to a Series Land Rover but older Series door handles will need upgrading to the anti-burst style handles.
