The Land Rover Defender, Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic Steering Box Drop Arm and Ball Joint can be viewed as a particularly weak point and is understood to need replacing periodically. Although a cheaper method would be to just replace the actual ball joint it can be very time consuming meaning it's quicker to remove the full drop arm and replace it with this brand new unit.
