Td5 crank sensor overlay harness. This harness overlays the Td5 crank sensor wiring.
Commonly on older higher mileage Td5 engined vehicles the crank sensor wiring sensor end can break down due to becoming brittle from repeated heat cycles and engine rock.
This can lead to broken wires at the crank sensor end of the engine Harness.
This can often cause intermittent running and starting faults down to a complete non start situation.
Our harness is built with High specification defence standard 61-12 part 4 screened cable.

All our wiring harnesses are hand made in the UK all our cable is UK made and all components where possible are UK sourced.
NOTE
The cable specification of this harness exceeds the cable grade for performance/longevity over the factory cable used by Leoni manufacturing.
Please note the factory cable colors do not match against this harness and care must be taken to ensure that the red 36way ecu connector is pinned as follows.
- CONNECTOR C0158-13 K/B will be replaced with red of the overlay harness.
- CONNECTOR C0158-36 W/U will be replaced with blue of the overlay harness.
GROUND SHEILDING
The ground shielding cable of the overlay harness connects to C0158 16 please note the shield terminates at the crank sensor end which is perfectly normal as the shield is simply there to protect the signal wires from any electromagnetic interference.
CONNECTOR C0158 RED ENGINE ECU CONNECTOR
Connector C0158 can be located under the driver seat on Defender
models and behind the battery on Discovery’s.
