LRC10419 – Complete Door Aperture Seal Kit – Land Rover Discovery 1 & Discovery 2 – Front, Rear & Tailgate
The LRC10419 complete door seal kit has been put together by LR Parts to provide all five main door-aperture seals for a Land Rover Discovery 1 or Discovery 2 in one convenient package.
Rather than identifying and ordering the two front-door seals, two rear-door seals and tailgate seal individually, we have combined them under one LR Parts kit number.
Ideal for a restoration or for a vehicle where several of the original door seals have become compressed, split or damaged with age.

This gives you a complete set of five main door-opening seals for the vehicle.
Why Replace Old Discovery Door Seals?
The original rubber door seals can deteriorate after many years of use.
Repeated compression every time a door is closed, together with age, dirt, weather and general wear, can eventually cause the seals to become:

Flattened or permanently compressed

Split or torn

Loose around the door aperture

Hardened with age

Damaged during previous body or trim repairs
A worn seal may no longer sit correctly between the door and body when the door is closed.
Replacing tired seals can help restore the proper seal around the door openings and may help reduce wind noise, draughts and water ingress caused specifically by damaged door-aperture seals.
Important – Discovery Water Leaks
Discovery 1 and Discovery 2 models can suffer water ingress from a number of different areas.
Replacing the door seals will only address leaks caused by the door-aperture seals themselves.
Water can also enter through other areas of the vehicle, including sunroofs, alpine windows, roof seals and body joints, so we recommend establishing the source of a leak rather than assuming that replacement door seals will cure every water-ingress problem.

Installation
These are aperture seals which fit around the corresponding body openings rather than seals bonded permanently to the doors themselves.
When replacing them, take the opportunity to clean the mounting flange thoroughly and inspect the surrounding bodywork for corrosion or previous damage before fitting the new seals.
Work progressively around the aperture to ensure the seal is fully seated and avoid unnecessarily stretching the rubber during installation.
