A complete Genuine Land Rover fixed side-step kit in black for the new-generation Range Rover L460 short/standard-wheelbase model from 2022 onwards.
LRC10137 brings together the individual Genuine Land Rover components that make up Land Rover's VPLKFSS002 black fixed-side-step virtual kit, giving you everything required under one LR Parts kit number rather than having to identify and order the individual component packs separately.

Land Rover specifies VPLKFSS002 as the black fixed-side-step kit for short-wheelbase L460 vehicles.
Fixed Black Side Steps
These are fixed side steps, not the electrically deployable version.
Once installed, the steps remain permanently in position and provide a substantial lower stepping surface along each side of the Range Rover.
The black finish gives a more discreet appearance than the bright/silver version and works particularly well with vehicles fitted with black exterior trim packs.

Full Set of Replacement Trim Clips Included
Fitting the side steps requires removal of sections of the original sill / rocker trim.
The plastic clips used on these trims can easily be damaged or broken during removal, particularly once they have been fitted to the vehicle for several years.
For that reason, we include a complete set of replacement clips and pins with LRC10137, so the installer does not need to rely on reusing old trim fixings.

What Does “Equivalent to VPLKFSS002” Mean?
VPLKFSS002 is Land Rover's virtual accessory kit reference for the black fixed side steps.
Rather than being one single physical box containing every component, the installation is made up from several Genuine Land Rover accessory and service-part kits.
LRC10137 brings those required components together as one complete LR Parts package.
Genuine Land Rover Components
This kit is assembled using Genuine Land Rover side steps, brackets, protective trims and fixing components.
For an accessory of this size, accurate bracket position and alignment is particularly important. Using the proper Land Rover components means the parts correspond with the vehicle-specific installation and mounting arrangement intended for the L460.
Are VPLXP0513 Steps Fixed or Deployable?
You may see VPLXP0513 described elsewhere as a deployable side-step board.
The same black step board is used within several Genuine Land Rover side-step systems.
In LRC10137 / VPLKFSS002, the boards are installed using the dedicated VPLKP0495 and VPLKP0496 fixed-step brackets, so the finished installation is a conventional fixed side-step system.
There are no electric motors or deployable-step electronics used with this kit.
Installation
Fitting the L460 fixed side steps is a substantial accessory installation rather than simply bolting the step boards straight onto the vehicle.
Installation involves removal of sections of the sill / rocker trim and underbody components, fitting the dedicated jacking-point and side-step brackets, modifying the relevant trim as specified by Land Rover and then refitting the vehicle trim around the new steps.
Land Rover's installation procedure specifies equipment including:

We therefore recommend that installation is carried out by someone comfortable working with modern Land Rover body trim and following the official Land Rover accessory fitting procedure.
Important – Off-Road Clearance
The steps sit below the vehicle's original sill line and therefore reduce the available clearance along the sides of the vehicle.
Land Rover specifically advises that fitting fixed side steps can affect the vehicle's off-road capability.
For vehicles regularly used in more demanding off-road conditions, this should be considered before fitting.
Mudflap Installation
If fitting Genuine Land Rover mudflaps at the same time as the fixed side steps, Land Rover specifies that the side steps should be installed first and the mudflaps fitted afterwards.
Why Fit Fixed Side Steps?
The L460 Range Rover has a relatively high sill, particularly when entering the vehicle with the suspension raised.
