BlakGlass® Heated windscreen with the correct factory slightly green tint
Are you tired of your old rubber windscreen rubber perishing and cracking? Or tired of how difficult it is to fit the original type of windscreen, messing about trying to fit the rubber to the screen, then put into place using string, only to nearly finish and the windscreen cracks! Meaning having to buy another one, your vehicle being out of action and then trying again.
BlakGlass® have developed the answer!
Totally unique to the market, we have developed this windscreen to be fitted in line with the modern way of fitting automotive windscreens, which is to bond the windscreen into place. Using a rubber seal to hold a piece of glass in went out in the 90's, as bonding in is so much faster, easier and more reliable.
This is specially designed into your existing windscreen frame with no modifications needed to your vehicle. these fit every Land Rover Defender built from 1983-2016.
These are made larger than the original windscreens so they fit perfectly in the recess within the frame and also come with the silk screen printing around the edge to cover the sealant underneath. Just like the windscreen on any modern car.
Once fitted into place you know it is properly sealed unlike the original rubber seal where water often tracks underneath and comes into the vehicle.
Although this is a revolutionary design for the classic Defender, we have designed this so well that it looks like an OEM style of fitment, and to the untrained eye it looks like something that would have come out of the Land Rover factory when new! A very subtle yet great upgrade
This can be used as a direct replacement for any Defender already with a heated windscreen or as part of a retrofit upgrade if you wish to add a heated screen, as long as you fit the relevant wiring to your vehicle.
This kit comes with 2 tubes of windscreen sealant and a bottle of primer to promote adhesion where the bonding is used. Also comes with 2 plastic spacers to put under the windscreen while the bonding cures to ensure it doesn't slip down.
