DA2344KIT – Defender Puma Front Air Conditioning Kit with Uprated High-Performance Condenser – 2.4 & 2.2 TDCi – 2007–2016

A complete front air-conditioning conversion kit for Land Rover Defender Puma/TDCi models from 2007–2016, suitable for both right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive vehicles.

This version of the DA2344 system includes the uprated Coolair Logan high-performance condenser, offering improved condenser efficiency and enhanced corrosion protection compared with the standard OEM-style condenser option.

Designed specifically for the Defender Puma, the system integrates into the vehicle's original heater box to give a neat, factory-style installation rather than adding a separate universal air-conditioning unit beneath the dashboard. Coolair Logan designs its Puma systems to integrate with the original vehicle infrastructure with minimal modification.

Why Fit Air Conditioning to a Defender Puma?

Air conditioning was not fitted to every Defender Puma when new, and an un-air-conditioned Defender can become extremely uncomfortable during warm weather or when used in hotter climates.

The DA2344 system provides a complete vehicle-specific solution which integrates with the Defender's existing heating and ventilation system.

Once installed, the interior installation closely follows the appearance and operation of a factory-equipped Defender rather than looking like an aftermarket universal system.

We have sold more than 100 of these Defender air-conditioning kits over the years and have found them to be an extremely reliable and effective upgrade.

Factory-Style Installation

The Puma system is designed around the Defender rather than adapted from a universal air-conditioning kit.

Features include:

  • Integration with the original Defender heater box
  • Connection into the vehicle's existing wiring loom and fuse board
  • Vehicle-specific components and pipework
  • Pre-assembled components wherever practical
  • Suitable for both RHD and LHD vehicles
  • Components designed to correspond with original Land Rover fitment

Components within the system are interchangeable with the equivalent Genuine Land Rover parts where applicable.

Uprated Coolair Logan High-Performance Condenser

This version of the kit includes our uprated high-performance condenser in place of the conventional OEM-style unit.

The Coolair Logan condenser is designed as a direct performance replacement for Land Rover condenser LR025985, using the existing vehicle mounting points and air-conditioning pipework.

No modification to the existing A/C pipework is required.

What Makes the Uprated Condenser Different?

The upgraded condenser uses a modern parallel-flow aluminium coil, designed to improve heat-transfer efficiency and provide a more uniform condensing process during operation.

Features include:

  • Aluminium parallel-flow condenser construction
  • Improved condenser efficiency
  • Improved corrosion resistance
  • Direct replacement dimensions for LR025985
  • Uses the Defender's existing mounting points
  • No modification to air-conditioning pipework required
  • Supplied mounted in a new steel box-section frame
  • Compact 225mm IP68-rated condenser fan
  • Fan supplied ready for connection to the vehicle wiring harness
  • Anti-corrosion treatment
  • Black finish to retain the appearance of the original installation
  • Black fixings throughout

Improved Frame and Corrosion Protection

The condenser is mounted within a newly manufactured steel box-section frame using the same basic dimensions and mounting arrangement as the original assembly.

The frame is finished using a black E-Coat treatment, providing a durable corrosion- and chemical-resistant finish while maintaining the understated appearance of the original installation behind the Defender grille.

This makes the uprated condenser particularly attractive for Defenders used in demanding, wet or corrosive environments.

Standard or Uprated Condenser?

We offer the DA2344 Defender Puma air-conditioning system with two condenser choices:

DA2344.G – Standard OEM-style condenser
Best suited to owners who want the conventional original-style condenser arrangement.

DA2344KIT – Uprated Coolair Logan condenser
Uses the modern parallel-flow aluminium condenser, upgraded corrosion protection and compact IP68 fan described above.

Both versions use the same basic Defender Puma front air-conditioning system; the principal difference is the condenser assembly supplied with the kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit both 2.4 and 2.2 Puma Defenders?

Yes. The kit is suitable for Defender Puma/TDCi models from 2007–2016, covering both the 2.4 and later 2.2 diesel engines.

Will it fit a left-hand-drive Defender?

Yes. The DA2344 system is suitable for both left- and right-hand-drive Puma Defenders. Britpart also lists DA2344 for both RHD and LHD Defender models from 2007–2016.

Does it look like factory-fitted air conditioning once installed?

The Puma system integrates with the Defender's original heater box and is designed to blend with the existing vehicle infrastructure, giving a much more factory-style installation than a generic under-dash air-conditioning system.

What's the advantage of the high-performance condenser?

The uprated condenser uses a modern parallel-flow aluminium coil together with improved corrosion protection and a compact IP68 condenser fan. It is designed as a direct replacement for the original LR025985-style arrangement without requiring changes to the existing A/C pipework.

Do I need to modify the air-conditioning pipes to fit the uprated condenser?

No. The condenser is designed to use the existing mounting points and pipe connections.
